We're at is once again this week with PubGuys trivia at World of Beer - Ft. Worth! This week we had a slightly smaller group (by about 5 people) than last week, but we still had a great time! Coming out this week we hadn't seen Law & Disorder for a few games, and Pub Flies also made their first appearance in a few weeks as well. Back for more we had Nicky Flash, Got Here Late, and Jerk Store with us as well. There's always two full games at World of Beer, so there are two chances to win a $25 or $10 gift certificate to come back and eat for free! On top of that it's Taco Tuesday every week as well, so you can grab some grub while expanding your trivial knowledge!
Every game we have a Themed Round and a Visual/Kitchen Timer Bonus round. During the first game it's always a visual round, and this week's visual round was Superhero Logos. The teams were provided with a printout of several logos, and they had to name as many as they could for a chance at 10 additional points. The Theme for this game this week was Every Answer Ends in T, which meant that every answer during that round ended with the letter T. During this game we had Nicky Flash take 1st by two points, leading to a tie between Law and Disorder and Jerk Store for 2nd. After dueling it out in a blisteringly fast game of Rock, Paper, Scissors, Jerk Store came out as the victors in the tiebreaker showdown.
This week each team did pretty well, so there was no question that stumped everyone during Game 1.
As usual, we lost a few people between games due to having other things to attend to, but we still had over 30 players in attendance for Game 2. We also gained the two teams I Am Groot and Rookies, as well. This time the Theme for Round 2 was clothing, so all the questions and answers were related to clothing, clothing stores, inventors, etc. Instead of having a Visual Round for Game 2 we had a Kitchen Timer Bonus round. The teams had two minutes to put down up to 10 answers to the following question: According to an early 2021 world survey by Statista Global, what are the top ten countries where adult residents admit to drinking beer regularly? This game Nicky Flash and Law and Disorder pushed Jerk Store out of the running, with a tie for 1st place. This time they agreed on a tiebreaker question, though, and Nicky Flash came out on top again. Here's a question that only one team got right:
There were several teams that put down Thomas Jefferson and Abraham Lincoln, but they were wrong. The correct answer was:
