Game 1
This week Flaming Yawn came back, as well as Pub Flies for the first time in a few weeks. Got Here Late, our most consistent regulars, joined us with Glizzy Seltzers and MB Luck. This week's Visual Round was The Letter I, meaning that all the images had something to do with "I" words. For Round Two, the Theme Round, the theme was Jolly Ol' England, meaning all the questions or answers that round had something to do with England. A lot of teams put down the UK, or Britain, but we were specifically looking for England. Flaming Yawn tied with Got Here Late, requiring us to dip into out big bag of tiebreakers. Flaming Yawn ended up taking the win, and second went to Got Here Late. Here's one that stumped everyone:
The only time the men's US Open has been held in Wisconsin was at which course?
We had no serious answers this time, with teams saying "The only one in Wisconsin", and Cheese Head. Those were obviously incorrect, the correct answer was:
Erin Hills
Game 2
This time Glizzy Seltzers changed their name to Hotdog Water, but otherwise the same teams stuck around for trivia night Game 2. This time the Theme for Round Two was New England, meaning that all the questions and answers that round had something to do with New England. There's no Visual Round for Game Two, but rather there is a Kitchen Timer Bonus Round, in which teams can win 8-10 points to add on to their score last minute. The question for this week's Visual Round was: What are the 9 rooms in which a murder can take place in the original version of the board game Clue? In the end Flaming Yawn took first again, this time with a commanding lead, and Pub Flies came in second. Here's one that stumped everyone in Game 2:
Who won six consecutive Wimbledon singles titles in the 1980s?
There were teams that guessed Pete Sampras, and others that guessed John McEnroe, but they were all wrong. The correct answer was:
Martina Navratilova
Each team that won first or second place took home a $25 and $10 gift certificate to World of Beer - Ft. Worth to enjoy with their team! If you're fairly smart and want to have a good time, come on out with PubGuys Trivia and have a great time! They also have a full bar, and a great kitchen, so you can grab a bite to eat while you workout your brain. Best of all you can get out of the heat! Come on out next week, I'll be there! Until next time!
