I thought I’d spend a few lines talking about our questions and how we come up with them. The PubGuys Trivia team consist of three partners, Adam, Kyle, and myself. We bring a varied trivia background into the company which is, in my opinion, a perfect scenario. By this, I mean, we often don’t agree on what makes a perfect question. Sometimes we think a question is too obscure or too easy or too hard or too this or too that, so we devised a system of voting and ranking and we do this for each and every question in our database. Now, it is impossible to please everyone, but we do try to come up with a good average game that will challenge you but not make you feel like you just walked into a final of a class you skipped all semester. Trust me when I say that is no easy task.

So about the questions. Each question is vetted through us. I will admit that every once in a while we pull a question from what we think is a trusted source so we don’t verify and that burns us, as it did last week, but those are very few and far between. Then each week we pull the questions randomly from the unused (or unused in a long time) list of questions according to the value and category for rounds 1 and 3. We manually come up with the themed round 2.

So there you go, that’s how we do it. Add a little dose of love to the end and you got yourself a trivia game.
