Tuesday night at Cowtown Brewing Co. was everything you’d expect from a perfect trivia night—cold beer flowing, plates stacked high with mouthwatering BBQ from Outpost 36 Texas BBQ, and a packed house full of energy and laughter. The crowd was buzzing, teams were fired up, and one thing was certain: competition was going to be tough. With one full game of PubGuys Trivia on deck, six rounds of questions, and bonus points scattered throughout, every team knew they’d have to bring their best to stay in the hunt.
The opening rounds quickly set the tone for a high-energy night. Jerk Store jumped out with a strong performance, posting a 7 in Round 1 and backing it up with a solid 6 in Round 2, giving them the early edge. Dabs and Team O’Dell were hot on their heels, both scoring consistently in the opening rounds to keep the pressure on. Meanwhile, No Folk And Chance showed promise with a steady 5 and 7, proving they were here to play. Teams like Comedy Cain, Spooning Leads to Forking, I Quizzed My Pants, and Rhymes with Justice stayed bunched in the middle, keeping things close and setting up for an exciting mid-game shuffle.
As the questions got tougher, the leaderboard started to tighten. Team O’Dell delivered the round of the night in Round 3 with a huge 9, catapulting them into contention for the top spot. But Jerk Store refused to let up, keeping pace with another strong 7. Dabs slipped a bit with a 6 and then a tough 3 in Round 4, opening the door for others to climb. No Folk And Chance stayed steady, while Comedy Cain lit up the board with a 7 in Round 4, pulling themselves right back into the mix. By the halfway mark, it was clear this game was going to come down to the wire.
The tension in the room only grew as the final rounds approached. In Round 5, Dabs bounced back with a strong 7, but Jerk Store stumbled slightly with just 2 points, giving the chasing pack hope. Team O’Dell added another solid 5, keeping the pressure on the leaders. The final round, however, belonged to Jerk Store. They finished with a commanding 9, slamming the door on their rivals and cementing their spot at the top. Team O’Dell tried to keep pace with a 5, and while Dabs fought hard, their late slip proved costly. The rest of the field fought valiantly, but the gap had grown too large to overcome.
When the dust settled, it was Jerk Store standing tall as the night’s champions, finishing with a commanding 42 points. Dabs secured second place with 33 points, and Team O’Dell rounded out the podium in third with 32 points.
