Game 1:
Thank you, Mother Nature, for keeping the storms away so we could enjoy the patio and cool temperatures and a fun night of PubGuys Trivia at Cowtown Brewing Co.!
We had 12 teams pulling out their thinking caps for 2 fun games and they did not disappoint. With 2 rounds into the first game, it was going to be a close one. No Folk and Chance was sitting in a 3rd place tie with The Usual Suspects. Hot Tequila was on a tear and were solo in 1st place at 11 points, trying to keep their nemesis, Mouseaholics, in their rear-view mirror. However, how was their WW2 history knowledge? That was our bonus category for the first game. From Operation Overlord to Trinity, these would be critical points.
We had some new teams in the mix as well with The Ends of 35, Ranger Inc, Monica La ‘Brew’ski and The Henry’s working into the mix.
When you get 2 points in the final round and only 3 bonus points, it is hard to keep teams in your rear-view mirror as Hot Tequila hit a spike strip, blew a flat and watched Mouseaholics pass them by and end up in a tie for 2nd place with The Usual Suspects which left our winners of game 1 to No Folk and Chance!
We went with a quick tiebreaker to see who would take 2nd place in game 1. The FCC and UHF came into play here as I needed the year that the FCC allowed the usage of UHF. With a guess of 1942, Mouseaholics were close. Unfortunately, with a guess of 1952, the exact year, we had our 2nd place winner – The Usual Suspects!

Game 2:
No Folk and Chance, The Ends of 35 and Mouseaholics all started off wanting a piece of the cheese and started out with 11 points after 2 rounds. Hot Tequila found their stride in round 2 and we just 2 points off the mark.
Harry Stamper, Moonlighting, and The 6th sense needed to be known if you wanted to win game 2. No Folk and Chance and Hot Tequila got their Bruce Willis on by getting all 6 bonus questions! Mouseaholics hung in there with 5 of 6. We had some amazing scores in round 3 with The Usual Suspects getting all 10 points but with only 3 bonus points, would it be enough to get into the top 2? No Folk and Chance and Mouseaholics both took 7 points and Hot Tequila took 8 points in round 3. Our 5th place team, The Ends of 35, ended at 20 points and you know it was a close game as 1st place ended the night with 24 points. Our 4th place team, The Usual Suspects, ended at 22 points…meaning our 2nd place teams both ended with 23. Another game, another tie! Could the Mouseaholics get the best answer, or would they fall short?
One last question, one last guess for Hot Tequila and Mouseaholics…
A guess of 11 vs a guess of 9…how many Oscars did Titanic win? Another exact answer, 11 give to us by the Mouseaholics!
