No Problem. With the power house teams of Hot Tequila and Tequila is better cold taking a respite, it left the door open for other teams to bask in the glory of winning a game, or two, of PubGuys Trivia at Cowtown Brewing Co.. Let me say, they took advantage!
GAME 1:
We welcomed back Pocket, Jersey, No Folk and Chance and Spooning Leads to Forking this week. We welcomed in some new teams this week as well! Welcome to the PubGuys Trivia family Horned Frogs, Lisa’s Zeppelin, The 6 Amigos and Omniscient!
Halfway through game 1 we had a fight on our hands with only 3 points separating 1st and 4th, it was anyone’s game. Jersey! was in the lead with Pocket and Lisa’s Zeppelin hot on their heels, down by 1 point. It would all come down to the final round and a who could get the most bonus questions. As always, this venue and the teams do not disappoint! With the 6 Amigos hammering out a perfect 8 points they were fighting for the win! However, it was Lisa’s Zeppelin with 6 points and a perfect round on bonus points, who leaped frog and took the W for their first victory. Jersey slipped a little in round 3 with only 4 points but they nailed 7 of 8 bonus points. The 6 Amigos, No Folk and Chance and Pocket fought hard and set a 3-way tie for 3rd. What an amazing ending to our first game!
GAME 2:
Some games are a little easier than others. We found that out with Game 2 as the winning score dropped by 7 points this game. The Bonus questions were also a lot harder as teams averaged 2 points total this game.
A low start to the game as No Folk and Chance busted out with 6 points but only held a 3-point lead over 5th place The 6 Amigos. Even though the scores were low, it was a competitive game from the start. Going into round 2 we saw Lisa’s Zeppelin, Omniscient and Jersey stay in the hunt being down by 3 and all tied for 2nd place. This was going to be an amazing race! As the final bell rang, we saw game 1 winners, Lisa’s Zeppelin, hit 5 points and 2 bonus points while the leaders, No Folk and Chance, only hit 3 points. The 6 Amigos made a push too in the final round and missed out on 2nd place by 1 point. Congrats on back-to-back wins by Lisa’s Zeppelin and our 2nd place team, No Folk and Chance!
I cannot wait to see what next week holds as our trivia family at Cowtown Brewing Co. keeps growing. A huge thank you to the Cowtown crew (Gavin, Heather, Christiana, Vanessa, and Patrick) as they make my life easier by pouring cold beers and serving hot food!
