…a full house and a packed patio made for an amazing night of PubGuys trivia at Cowtwon Brewery in Fort Worth.  We had 20 amazing teams playing for 1^st and 2^nd place tonight.  This was going to be an awesome night!  We had the following teams join us tonight:

Jersey, Trivia Tourists, Ohtani is the real mvp, Fowl Play, Team Knights, 1 n done, Dimestore Drinkers, No Folk and Chance, Hot Tequila, Trust yo'gut, #we just work here, Beer Pressure, Lyon, GCA, Film Pub, Ghouls just wanna have fun, The Know it alls, Billy Bad Answers, Pocket, and HR Sucks 

Holy cow it was packed, and it was a ton of fun.  With 20 teams, these games could go any which way!  How would it end?

Game 1:

After 2 fun filled rounds, we had a game on our hands.  In 1^st, by a single point we had Jersey!  In a close 2^nd place, we had newcomers Trivia Tourists.  Tied for 3^rd place we had 9 teams!  Only 2 points separated the 9 teams in 3^rd from 1^st place.  This could be a crazy finish to a great game!

Round 3 would be the decision maker, I was hoping we would not end with a 9-way tie for 1^st.  While that could be fun, that would not be fun!  1 ‘n done made a run for 2^nd place with an amazing 8 points in the final round, but would it be enough?  Our first-place team Jersey along with 5 other teams got 6 points.  However, the bonus points would come into play for our final scores, and they were all based on the World’s oceans.  Jersey took advantage of this subject and received 7 bonus points, ensuring they held onto 1^st place!  From 2^nd place to 12^th place, all scores were separated by a single point, with 4 teams tying at 19 points, 2 teams tying at 20 points, 3 teams tying at 21 points and our second-place teams, Ohtani is the real MVP and Fowl Play tying at 22 points.

We had a quick tie breaker question of “The first commercial brewery opened in North America, the Dutch West India Company, opened in what year?”  Congrats to Ohtani is the real MVP on taking 2^nd place in a hard-fought game 1!  I could not wait for game 2.

2^nd Place – Ohtani is the real MVP

Game 2:

2 rounds in and we had we had the MVP from game 1 making a move and getting 17 fast points.  Would they maintain this level of hitting and take 1^st again or would we see Team Knights, currently in first, take the win?  However, we also had Beer Pressure, Hot Tequila, No Folk and Chance and Dimestore Drinkers in the mix this game.  Would one of the regulars come out swinging and take 1^st?

With our bonus questions based on Marvel Comics, this was going to be a fun game 2.  Round 3 we had No Folk and Chance, Beer Pressure and Team Knights all get 10 points.  Ohtani is the real MVP looked to maintain their perfect game but fell short with only 7 points in round 3.  Hot Tequila tried to stay hot but cooled off in round 3 with only 3 points.  However, they were hot with an amazing 13 bonus points.  Why so many bonus points?  Everyone wanted a hard final question so the final bonus question was worth up to 6 points if they could name all the infinity stones.  No Folk and Chance also got their Marvel on with a marvelous 14 bonus points propelling them into a tie for 1^st place with Beer Pressure.  Team Knights and Ohtani is the real MVP tied for 3^rd just 1 point out of first place.  Another game, another tie!

Beer Pressure vs. No Folk and Chance for 1^st and 2^nd place this game.  We had a quick question with an answer of 43.  One team went 21 one team with 61.  We had a difference of 22 vs a difference of 18…once I did the math right.  Congrats to No Folk and Chance on taking 1^st place!

A huge shoutout to the Cowtown crew for taking care of my Trivia heads!  We had Gavin, Jeff, Heather, Josh, and George helping out tonight brining up Hot Food and serving up Cold Beer.
