Game 1: Bonus Questions Theme – Famous Jenny’s or Jennifers
What a packed house tonight! We had 15 amazing teams join me at Cowtown Brewing Co. for tonight’s games! We had Hot Tequila, Law and Disorder, Smarty Pints and Jerk Store in the mix. We also welcomed back long-time players, TexCub (I was very happy to see you all again!). We also had some new teams in the house tonight: Stoopid Together, Smith, Leaky Faucets and Definitely Didn’t Google, and The Schwartz, and more came to test their knowledge against some heavy hitting teams!
With 11 points after 2 rounds, Stoopid Together, sounded very much like an oxymoron as together they were sitting in 1st place. Law and Disorder and The Schwartz were right on their tail just 1 point behind at 10 and then we had a slew of teams on the outskirts but well within striking distance with 1 round to go!
Faster than a Quickling, 1st place slipped from Stoopid Together’s hands as they heard 3 teams buzz by them to dash their hopes of winning game 1 as they slipped into 4th place with Hot Tequila. With 8 points in the final round, Law and Disorder slammed the gavel down and took 1st place with 24 total points. While only taking 6 points in round 3, TexCub played like the Texas Rangers, not the Chicago Cubs, and suddenly, they found themselves in a tie for 2nd place with Jerk Store! You know the drill by now, 1 team member, 1 question, 1 answer and there can only be 1 to team to take 2nd place. We went with a quick question requiring a date. TexCub and Jerk Store were both close on their guesses, but with a mighty swipe of their paw and a guess within 20 years of the date, TexCub took 2nd place, leaving Jerk Store out of the money.

Game 2: Bonus Questions Theme – Top Gun & Top Gun: Maverick
TexCub was ready for game 2 as they had a good round 1 and were looking to make their mark in round 2. However, The Schwartz, Jerk Store, Stoopid Together and Hot Tequila had set bear traps to slow them down and with only 3 points in round 2, it was going to be a painful sprint to get back into the money!
Jerk Store channeled their inner Steve Martin and kept chanting ‘You belong to me’, as they recovered from a ghastly round 1 and took 9 points in round 2 and moved into 1st place. The Schwartz were channeling their inner Dark Helmet and suddenly found themselves in a tie for 2nd place with Hot Tequila. However, we had round 3 and more bonus questions!
Remember, boys, no points for 3rd place! 8 points in round 3, Stoopid Together, thought they were about to hit Mach 10 but instead they got reprimanded for buzzing the tower! With just 1 bonus point, they found themselves sitting in 3rd place, tied with Hot Tequila, just 1 point out of a tie for 2nd.
Jerk Store had the ring and thought their schwartz was bigger. Unfortunately for them, The Schwartz proved to be bigger as they also knew how to use theirs better. With 7 points in round 3 and 4 bonus points, The Schwartz, struck down Jerk Store and took 1st place by 2 points! Jerk Store was left picking out a thermos for taking 2nd place.

A huge shout out to Christiana, Hannah, CJ, Darryl, and Samir for taking care of the Teams tonight. You all keep the beers full; the food is delivered hot, and you make my life easier as I host Trivia.
