Trivia night at Cowtown Brewery in Fort Worth was packed, buzzing with excitement as teams gathered for a night of competition and laughs, all under the watchful eye of The Angry Irishman. His sharp wit and booming voice kept the energy high, and it was clear that everyone was ready for a fun and intense trivia battle. The brewery was buzzing with chatter, the smell of craft beer filling the air, as everyone found their spots and prepared for the first of two games.
Game 1:
From the very start, it was clear this was going to be a tight race. Two rounds in, and Cheating Bastards—a visiting team—and the Trivia Chimps had taken the early lead with 14 points each. Not far behind was Jerk Store, a regular at Cowtown Brewery trivia nights, who were trailing by just 1 point. Meanwhile, Hot Tequila, a team known for their sporadic brilliance, was struggling, sitting in 5th place. Several teams were knotted at 10 points, waiting for their chance to break away from the pack in round 3.
The third round was the turning point, and Cheating Bastards proved they weren’t here just for the beer. They racked up 11 points in the round, propelling themselves into first place with authority. Jerk Store, despite a strong showing with 8 points in the final round, found themselves edged out in the end, finishing in second place, just 2 points behind. Trivia Chimps, who had started so strong, saw their hopes of victory fade, dropping to third as the final scores were tallied.
The top five was rounded out by Lonely Mr. Maisel, another team familiar with Cowtown’s trivia scene, and Hot Tequila, who, despite a rough start, managed to stay in the mix.

With a fresh slate and a determination to make up for their earlier struggles, Hot Tequila came into the second game with fire. They wasted no time, exploding out of the gate with 16 points, making a clear statement that they weren’t going to let Game 1 define their night. Hot Tequila’s competitors, however, weren’t going down without a fight. Jerk Store and 3 Guys and a Dude were right on their heels, each sitting at 14 points after the first two rounds.
Meanwhile, six other teams were lurking just behind, bunched together with scores between 10 and 11 points. It was anyone’s game as round 3 approached, and all eyes were on how the leaderboard would shake out.
Round 3 brought plenty of drama. Cheating Bastards, known for their sneaky comebacks, pulled a fast one again, scoring 9 points to leapfrog Jerk Store and tie with 3 Guys and a Dude for second place. Trivia Chimps, once again falling short in the clutch moments, slipped to fourth, while Jerk Store’s momentum stalled, leaving them in fifth place after a promising start.
Despite the fierce competition in round 3, Hot Tequila’s early dominance paid off. Even though they only managed to score 7 points in the final round, it was enough to fend off the charging Cheating Bastards and 3 Guys and a Dude, securing them a well-earned victory.
But the night wasn’t over just yet. The tie for second place between Cheating Bastards and 3 Guys and a Dude had to be resolved, and The Angry Irishman, never one to shy away from drama, declared a tie-breaker. It came down to one person from each team, one question, and a nerve-wracking 10 seconds to come up with the answer.
With the pressure mounting, it was Cheating Bastards who came out on top. Their representative nailed the tie-breaker question, leaving 3 Guys and a Dude stunned and just barely edged out. It was a wild, unpredictable end to an already thrilling night.

This trivia night at Cowtown Brewery, like so many before, didn’t disappoint. The Angry Irishman’s razor-sharp commentary kept everyone on their toes, and the close scores throughout both games meant that no team was ever truly out of the running. Cheating Bastards showed they were a force to be reckoned with, snagging a win and a tie-breaker victory, while Hot Tequila redeemed themselves with a stellar performance in Game 2.
With craft beer flowing, laughter echoing through the brewery, and plenty of surprises along the way, it was another unforgettable night at Cowtown, where trivia fans come for the questions but stay for the competition.
