The atmosphere at Trivia night at Cowtown Brewing Co. hosted by The Angry Irishman, once again delivered a thrilling evening of knowledge, strategy, and friendly rivalry. The regulars were out in full force, and a few new faces joined the competition, all hoping to win big in the classic pub quiz atmosphere.
Game 1: A Fast Start and a Dramatic Finish
The night began with Game 1, and it was clear from the start that the competition was going to be fierce. “No Folk and Chance,” one of the well-known teams at Cowtown, stormed ahead with an impressive 16 points in the first two rounds. Their rapid-fire answers and deep knowledge base had them sitting comfortably in the lead, setting the stage for a potential win.
Hot on their heels, “We Don't Have One,” “Hot Tequila,” and “I’m on One” were all in the mix with 11 points each. These teams showed they weren't going to back down, answering question after question with determination and a touch of humor that kept the energy in the room high. Meanwhile, “A Drinking Team with a Trivia Problem,” a team known for their resilience, was in the middle of the pack with 9 points. Their eyes were set on a strong Round 3 to catapult them into a winning position.
Round 3 was a nail-biter. "No Folk and Chance" managed only 5 points, and there was palpable tension as they worried that their earlier lead might not be enough to secure the win. “We Don't Have One” and the “Last Place Legends” tried to claw their way up the leaderboard with 6 and 5 points, respectively, but it was “A Drinking Team with a Trivia Problem” that stole the show. Their impressive 8-point performance in the final round put them in a tie with “We Don't Have One,” much to the shock of the other teams.
The tiebreaker was a tense moment. With just one question and ten seconds to answer, both teams took their best guess. The difference between “8” and “2” became the deciding factor, and “A Drinking Team with a Trivia Problem” emerged victorious, securing second place. “No Folk and Chance,” despite their worries, held on to their lead and took the win, thanks to their fast start. The “Last Place Legends” found themselves just outside the winner’s circle, left in the rain and pondering what might have been.

Game 2: New Entrants, Fierce Competition, and a Tight Finish
As the night rolled into Game 2, everyone was wondering: would “No Folk and Chance” be able to repeat their victory, or would a new champion rise? The room buzzed with anticipation as “Jerk Store,” delayed by rain but never one to be counted out, entered the mix. They quickly reminded everyone why they are a fan favorite, putting up a strong 12 points out of the gate. Not to be outdone, “Hot Tequila” matched them point for point, while “A Drinking Team with a Trivia Problem” and “No Folk and Chance” kept the pressure on, both sitting just a point behind at 11. Meanwhile, “The Girls Room” was showing they could be a dark horse contender, especially with a new member who added a fresh dynamic to their team’s strategy.
Round 3 was again the decisive round, and the tension was palpable. “We Don’t Have One” surged with 8 points, making a strong move, but it was a classic case of "too little, too late" as they ended up in a tie for fourth with “Hot Tequila.” The top three teams—"Jerk Store," "A Drinking Team with a Trivia Problem," and "No Folk and Chance"—all managed to score 5 points in the final round, which meant it would all come down to the bonus points.
As the bonus points were tallied, it became clear that “No Folk and Chance,” with only 4 bonus points, would not achieve the repeat victory they were hoping for. They gracefully accepted their third-place finish, while “A Drinking Team with a Trivia Problem” once again proved their consistency, securing second place and earning money for the second game in a row. However, the real story of Game 2 was “Jerk Store.” Despite arriving late to the competition, they shined bright throughout the game, managing to hold off “A Drinking Team with a Trivia Problem” and claim the top spot.
