The atmosphere at Cowtown Brewing Co. was electric as trivia enthusiasts gathered for another night of competition hosted by The Angry Irishman. Familiar faces like Hot Tequila, S&M, A Drinking Team with a Trivia Problem, and No Flux Given were in attendance, alongside some eager newcomers such as Sewage, Crap, and Holly Deam. It was clear from the outset that this was going to be a night of intense rivalries and close calls.
Game 1: A Tightly Contested Battle
The first game of the evening kicked off with high energy, as teams quickly settled into their groove. After two rounds, the competition was fierce. Table 24 Refugees and Hot Tequila found themselves in a deadlock for first place, each team boasting 14 points. Close on their heels was Sewage, sitting just two points behind at 12, while a cluster of other teams remained in striking distance with 10 points.
Round 3 saw a surge in efforts as teams scrambled to secure their positions. A Drinking Team with a Trivia Problem made a valiant effort, scoring 8 points in the round. Despite their strong performance, it wasn’t enough to crack the top two. Sewage and We Thought This Was Speed Dating also made notable moves, but the spotlight remained on Hot Tequila and Table 24 Refugees.
Table 24 Refugees, with another 8 points in the final round, managed to edge out Hot Tequila for the top spot. However, as employees of the brewery, Table 24 Refugees were not eligible to claim the victory, leaving Hot Tequila to take the official first place. This left a tie for second place between A Drinking Team with a Trivia Problem and Sewage, prompting a tense tiebreaker.
In true trivia fashion, the two teams faced off with one question, 10 seconds, and everything on the line. With a slightly closer guess, Sewage claimed second place, leaving A Drinking Team with a Trivia Problem in third. The excitement of the first game set the tone for what was shaping up to be an unforgettable night.

As Game 2 commenced, the competitive spirit was palpable. This time, it was Light Beer Pressure and We Thought This Was Speed Dating who found themselves neck and neck, tied for first place after the initial rounds. However, right on their heels were a formidable pack of teams, including S&M, Peasant Workers, I Quizzed My Pants, Basically Boiling, The Brewhouse, Holly Deam, and A Drinking Team with a Trivia Problem, all within a single point of the leaders.
The game was too close to call, and as the third round loomed, the pressure mounted. The final round and the potential for bonus points meant that no team could afford to relax. In a shocking turn of events, S&M surged ahead, securing 9 points in the final round and leaping past the competition to claim the win. Their unexpected victory left the other teams in awe, a reminder that in trivia, anything can happen.
Peasant Workers, despite only earning 3 points in the last round, managed to stay in the game thanks to 6 crucial bonus points, ending in a tie for second place with We Thought This Was Speed Dating. Crap, I Quizzed My Pants, and Hot Tequila rounded out the top five, each team putting in a commendable effort.
Once again, the night called for a tiebreaker to determine the second-place winner. With tensions high and guesses flying, We Thought This Was Speed Dating narrowly edged out Peasant Workers, securing their spot in second place. The night concluded with applause and cheers, a celebration of a wild and unpredictable evening.
The trivia night at Cowtown Brewing Co. proved to be a thrilling event filled with tight races, dramatic tiebreakers, and unexpected upsets. The Angry Irishman’s energetic hosting kept the crowd engaged, and the competition between the teams was nothing short of fierce. Regulars and newcomers alike left with memories of a night where every point mattered, and every question could change the game.
