...Apologies to my amazing teams as we had to close the Brewery before we could start game 2. With the scary scene, at the restaurant across the street, we decided it best to send you all home to avoid the chaos that ensued shortly after the closure.
As the first round kicked off, teams were quick to find their groove. Familiar faces like Cheating Bastards and A Drinking Team with a Trivia Problem were in their element, scoring big and setting the pace. Meanwhile, fresh contenders like Hot Tequila and Trivia Chumps were proving they weren’t here just to sample the brewery’s finest ales—they came to play.
By the end of Round 2, the leaderboard was heating up. Cheating Bastards and Mid West Texas were neck-and-neck, tied at 14 points each. Right on their heels, A Drinking Team with a Trivia Problem kept the pressure on, just a single point behind. The energy in the room was electric as smaller teams like 3 Guys and a Dude and Half Pint hung tough, waiting for their moment to shine.
The Turning Point
Round 3 brought a rollercoaster of emotions as teams grappled with a challenging set of questions that tested their pop culture knowledge, history recall, and obscure trivia expertise. Cheating Bastards, feeling the pressure, managed to scrape together 5 points—enough to stay in the lead, but not enough to breathe easy.
Then came the twist no one saw coming: Hot Tequila delivered an impressive performance in Round 3, earning 6 points. Add to that a perfect sweep of their bonus points, and they suddenly found themselves tied with Mid West Texas for second place at the buzzer. The crowd erupted in cheers (and a few good-natured groans) as everyone realized a tie-breaker was inevitable.
The Tie-Breaker Showdown
As The Angry Irishman delivered the tie-breaker question with his signature flair, tension filled the air. The question: What year was the first iPhone released?
Both teams scribbled furiously, their answers turned in under the wire. When the dust settled, Hot Tequila emerged victorious, securing second place with an impressively close guess. Their celebration was nothing short of triumphant, cementing their status as the night’s breakout stars.
As the evening wound down, the crowd lingered, basking in the camaraderie and friendly rivalry that makes trivia nights at Cowtown Brewery so special. The Irishman’s parting words summed it up best: “You laughed, you cried, you learned that your 7th-grade geography teacher failed you. See you all next week for more punishment—I mean, fun!”
Whether you walked away with bragging rights, a prize, or just a head full of random facts, one thing was certain: Trivia Night with The Angry Irishman never disappoints. If you haven’t joined the fun yet, grab some friends, think up a quirky team name, and get ready to test your mettle. Cowtown Brewery is where knowledge meets hops, and every Thursday night, everyone’s a winner—well, almost everyone.
Cheers to another epic night, and here’s to many more battles of wits and beers at Cowtown Brewery!
A huge shoutout to Christiana and Daryl for taking care of my Trivia Heads! You make my life so much easier ensuring the teams all have cold beers and drinks in hand! Also, a huge shoutout to BigKat Burgers for providing the teams with some amazing food!
