...we had some fun bonus questions about Chef's and The Matrix.
What an amazing evening. The weather was great, the food was hot, and the beer was cold! Away we went with 12 teams playing for 1st and 2nd place.
Specials at Cowtown Brewing Co. during Trivia include $15 pitchers on select beers and you get 3x the Trailblazer rewards as well!
Game 1:
2 rounds in and we had a great game on our hands. The Mouseaholics were had a 1-point lead over Hot Tequila and Blake’s Girls. Then there was the tie for 3rd as The Big Bass, Budgie Butt Stuff, Stamp Camp, Fujiyama, and The Henry’s were all at 11 points. This was going to be a CRAZY night!
Bonus points this round were all based on Celebrity Chef’s, and if you were not a fan of cooking shows, it would reflect on the final score. The Big Bass and Hot Tequila knew their chefs as they scored the most bonus points with 7 and 6. Mouseaholics tightened up their apron and did well with 5. Would those 5 points be enough to keep 1st place? YES! With 8 points in round 3 and their bonus points, we had our winner!
From 7th place to 3rd place, there was very little room for error. With 5 of the top 7 getting 8 points in round 3, it was a close game. From a total of 20 points to a total of 24 points, that is where our 7th place to 4th place teams fell. Another week, another tie as we had Hot Tequila and The Big Bass squeak out 25 points to tie for 2nd.
One player, one question, one answer, 10 seconds. This question was about how many people registered with the FEC as a 2012 Presidential candidate. With a guess of 42 and a guess of 12, we had our 2nd place winner. Congrats Hot Tequila!
Congrats to our game 1 winners!
1st place Game 1 – Mouseaholics
2nd place Game 1 – Hot Tequila
Game 2:
The Red Pill or the Blue Pill, which team would stay in the Matrix and who would leave? Yes, the bonus questions were all about the Matrix movie. Some teams did well with at least 4 bonus points. Again, this would come into play in this game, as these teams were all so close tonight on knowledge and points!
Mouseaholics and Stamp Camp all came out fighting with 14 points in the first 2 rounds. Hot Tequila was in the mix at 9 points. The Henry’s and Blake’s Girls were in the mix as well, but it would be a tough climb with only 1 round left.
Our top 3 teams scored 5,1 and 3 points in this final round and you would think it would separate 1st and 2nd place. However, with the bonus points and first 2 rounds, we ended in a 3-way tie for 1st. What a crazy game! I was not expecting this. Here is how we did it…2 questions with the winner of the 1st question taking 1st then we would have a 2nd question to decide 2nd place. Mouseaholics vs Stamp Camp vs. Hot Tequila…here we go!
We went with Snooker and the maximum break value. We had a guess of 42, 69 and 17. Congrats to Hot Tequila with the closest guess to 147.
Next up was how tall is Michelangelo’s David. With a guess of 42 and a guess of 16, we had our 2nd place winner – Stamp Camp as they were closest to 17 feet.
Congrats to our game 2 winners!
1st place Game 2 – Hot Tequila
2nd place Game 2 – Stamp Camp
