Trivia Night Recap at Cowtown Brewing Co.
Tuesday night at Cowtown Brewing Company was nothing short of electric. The brewery was buzzing, Outpost 36 Texas BBQ was serving up smoky perfection, and PubGuys Trivia brought the house together for one action-packed game of trivia. One game, six rounds, bonus questions, plenty of laughs, and—best of all—one of the tightest finishes we’ve ever seen.
The evening kicked off with eight teams jumping into the action. After Round 1, Hot Tequila and And in First Place came out strong with 7 points each, setting the tone for an intense battle. Not far behind, The Waterboys and Wranglin Points held steady with 6 points each, while Dos Amigos and It’s Monday Right stayed competitive with 4. The energy was high, and it was clear from the start that this wasn’t going to be a runaway game.
By the end of Round 2, things got even tighter. Hot Tequila held onto their edge with consistent scoring, but Dos Amigos and Here for the Vibes showed they weren’t backing down, each posting strong round scores. Meanwhile, The Waterboys stumbled just a little, dropping some ground, but with four rounds still to play, everyone knew the scoreboard could flip at any time.
Rounds 3 and 4 really put the pressure on. Wranglin Points made their move, landing a perfect 9 in Round 4 to catapult themselves back into contention. Hot Tequila kept their cool with another big round, but the middle of the pack was heating up fast. Dos Amigos matched that strong Round 4 performance, while The Waterboys started clawing their way back with an 8. At this point, the standings were razor thin, with just a few points separating second through fifth. The crowd was loud, the BBQ was smoking, and the trivia competition was on fire.
Heading into Rounds 5 and 6, the tension was real. Hot Tequila showed why they’re always a team to watch, dropping back-to-back 9 and 8-point rounds. Their consistency was unmatched, but The Waterboys and Wranglin Points weren’t done yet, pushing hard with big Round 5 scores of 8 apiece. Dos Amigos also refused to give up, hanging tough and setting themselves up for a strong bonus run. By the final round, the entire room was buzzing—every question mattered, and everyone knew the bonus could swing the outcome.
And oh, did it ever. After six rounds and the bonus, the scores were tallied. Hot Tequila came out on top with a commanding 50 points, sealing the win thanks to steady play and clutch answers. The Waterboys finished in second with 41 points, edging out Wranglin Points and Dos Amigos, who were tied just behind at 40 points each. It’s Monday Right closed strong with 37 points, while Double D’s, And in First Place, and Here for the Vibes rounded out the leaderboard.
The brewery was packed, the crowd was incredible, and as always, the competition was tough but the fun was nonstop. Trivia nights at Cowtown Brewing Co. never disappoint—and this one will be talked about for a long time.
