Game 1:
Yes, even on American Independence Day, there is always time to sneak in 2 games of trivia before you go see some fireworks. However, there sure were some fireworks during game 1!
Hot Tequila and I Quizzed my pants were in the house taking on some newcomers such as: Darrell’s Daddy, Team ‘Murica, We’re here for the beer and Double Nacho Day.
After 2 rounds we had Hot Tequila and Team ‘Murica sitting in a tie for 1st place with 11 points. Close behind, at 9 points, we had 3 teams sitting at 9 points. Just behind those 3 teams, we had 2 sitting at 8 points. This would come down to a good round 3, bonus points based on Movie and TV primates, and hoping a team in front of you slipped up.
Sometimes your drams come true and sometimes they bring in Freddy Krueger. Hot Tequila took 8 points in round 3 and with their 5 bonus points, they solidified 1st place at 24 points. Team ‘Murica and We’re here for the beer had a good round 3 with 6 points but with only 3 bonus points, they slipped down into 3rd and 4th place. Darrell’s Daddy pulled out the big brain in round 3 and took 8 points and ended with 4 bonus points. Unfortunately, it was not quite enough to take Hot Tequila and they ended in 2nd place with 21 points.
It was an amazing game to start the night and we quickly moved into game 2.

Game 2:
This game was a winner take all game as we wanted to ensure our teams could make their Fireworks watching destinations. So here we go…
Hot Tequila took a quick lead and stayed hot all game. With 9 points in the first 2 rounds and 8 bonus points, they took a fast and furious lead and never looked back. They ended up winning by a 5-point margin with 20 points.
The other teams were looking forward to the Fireworks and it reflected in their scores. We’re here for the beer fought hard but with a tough round 3 and only 6 bonus points, they ended in 2nd place. It was their first night out and they played well. I look forward to seeing them back next week!
I quizzed my pants had a good game too but with a tough 1st 2 rounds they could not overcome the deficit and fell to 3rd place.
This was a tough crowd and all the teams played well! Thank you all for coming out and celebrating with The Angry Irishman for 2 games of PubGuys Trivia!

What a great ending to a fun night! It is always an exciting time during PubGuys Trivia at Cowtown Brewery Co. on Tuesday nights.
A huge thank you to the Cowtown crew for taking care of us all! Christiana, Josh, Jacob, Samir, and Daryl. You all make my life easier by bringing the teams cold beer and hot food.
