…would all come into play this evening as our 2 themed bonus questions. Jed and Matt, Star Wars Logo, 1919 and more all to help the teams come out on top or topple them.
Game 1:
We had 2 regulars tonight as other teams needed a liver recovery night after Halloween shenanigans. Pocket and The Sharks would pit their knowledge against several newcomers, including: K9 Unit, Pineapple, Nebraska, Low Expectations, Chas Windsor, Toxicos, and The Ripped Jeans.
We got off to a fiery start with Pineapple and Nebraska coming in with 11 points after 2 rounds. K9 unit was close on their heels with 9 and we had several teams 6 and 7 points. We had a fun lot of bonus questions tonight all based on Red Dawn. Who would remember the original Wolverines and what logo Robert had on his hat? Oh yes, these were fun bonus questions tonight.
Round 3 what would we see? Would Pocket or The Sharks make a comeback? Would one of the newcomers reign supreme? Pocket made a great run-in round 3 getting 5 points and had the 2nd most bonus points with 4. However, Nebraska, did just as good with 6 points. Low Expectations was named appropriately as they only got 4 points in round 3 and a mere 2 bonus points. However, they hung in their and did well, taking 5th. K9 Unit and Pineapple had a great round 3 getting 8 points each. Pineapple managed to hold on and take 1st due to their 7 points in round 2 and thankfully to their 2 bonus points they came out on top with 21 points. K9 unit did great with their 8 points but fell just short with 20 points to take 2nd place.
Amazing start to the night!
1st place Game 1 – Pineapple
2nd place Game 1 – K9 Unit
Game 2:
What would we see this game? Would Low Expectations deny their name and find a way to win? Would The Sharks or Pocket show why they are regulars and come out with a win? Would Pineapple keep their mojo and become 2-time winners tonight?
Low Expectations and Pineapple wanted to prove their mettle and came out fast and furious with an awesome 11 points. Pocket was finding their stride with 8 points and The Sharks took a bite out of other teams and found themselves tied for 4th. Bonus questions would be key again this game and we were focused on Racehorse history. Who would know the most about the Triple Crown races and horses? We would find out again in round 3.
Ripped Jeans and The Sharks found themselves tied for 4th after a tough round 3. Pocket found an amazing amount of luck in their Pocket and got 5 amazing bonus points. Coupled with their 5 points in round 3, they were able to move up and over Ripped Jeans and The Sharks to TIE for 2nd place. When you have Low Expectations, you have nowhere to go but up and they found themselves alone in 1st place with 19 points. 2nd place would come down to the final question, a TIE breaker question: “How old was Queen Elizabeth I of England when she died in 1603?” With a guess of 64 and a guess of 65, we had our 2nd place winner! CONGRATS TO POCKET! They found magic instead of lint to come out in 2nd place.
1st place Game 1 – Low Expectations
2nd place Game 1 – Pocket
