...when you have a question about a rubber. Ok, not that kind of rubber, but read on and you will see what I mean.
Game 1:
What a beautiful evening at Cowtown Brewery! The Patio was packed because the weather was awesome. Tonight, we had our regulars of: Pocket, No Folk and Chance and Budreaux & Thibadeaux pitting their wits against newcomers: JK, Cartwright, Stupid Smart and The Goonies.
With a Winner Takes all game going on, you knew there was going to be some rough competition. The bonus questions were a flashback to the Brat Pack! Who could name the movies and actors from that famous era?
After 2 rounds we had a dog fight on our hands, figuratively speaking as we had some cute pups on the patio this evening! No Folk and Chance took a quick 2-point lead over Pocket and Budreaux & Thibadeaux. Not far behind we had JK sitting 3 points out of first. The bonus questions played a small part in this game as no team received more than 5 points with the average being 3 points per team.
In our final round we would see what these teams were made of. Could Budreaux & Thibadeaux find a way to overcome an average game and catch up to No Folk and Chance? Could pocket get rid of the lint and move up? The answer to that is…NO. With an amazing 6 points in round 3 we saw No Folk and Chance take the game with 19 points. Budreaux & Thibadeaux maintained their average points per round to take 2nd, but this was a winner take all game tonight! Pocket had a rough go at it with only 2 bonus points overall, falling to 4th place.

Would No Folk and Chance repeat and take the W again? Would Budreaux & Thibadeaux find a way to average more points per round and pull an upset? How about Pocket? Could they find a way to up their score and find their way into the winner’s circle? This we would see shortly and our bonus questions this game were all on Greek Mythology. From the Minotaur to Iris, we had some fun questions.
Round 2 ended with No Folk and Chance keeping to their winning ways at 10 points. However, Pocket found a way to stay in the game and were only 2 points behind going into round 3. Budreaux & Thibadeaux could not find their way out of the starting gate this game and were deep in the cellar with only 2 points after 2 rounds. JK and newcomers 2 guys one girl were enjoying the game but found themselves in 4th place after 2 rounds.
You know it is always a fun night when you read a question such as: “A foursome is required in which game wherein the object is to win the rubber?” and 2 young women at a table turn around looking at me like what the hell did you just ask? What kind of game is that!?!?! I am pretty sure I know where their minds went, but I was looking for a game called Rubber Bridge. LOL that made for a fun time!
Round 3 Stupid Smart started to get smart as they received the most points for the round, but it would not be enough to move them into the top spot. Budreaux & Thibadeaux had a much better round 3 but could not get out of the cellar as Pocket and No Folk and Chance slammed the door shut. I know it is shocking, but we had ANOTHER TIE at Cowtown! Off we went to the Cowtown Showdown for a tie breaking question. Mano a mano, 1 participant from each team would face off against the other for 1 question.
I wanted to know; how many states are listed on the top of the Lincoln Memorial on the back of a $5 bill. With a guess of 14, No Folk and Chance had no chance of winning as Pocket guessed 24. There are 26 states listed, in case you wanted to know!
