Game 1:
10 teams vying for first and second. It was a great turn out at Cowtown Brewery! We had our regulars with Mouseaholics, No Folk and Chance and Hot Tequila. We had several new teams as well with Here for the Beer, The WV Hillbilies, TFA, and A Font of useless knowledge. With a strong round 1 we had 3 teams tied for first, with The WV Hillbillies and A font of useless knowledge tied for 2nd. Round 2 would bring us some separation with Here for the beer and Mouseaholics getting 7 points. Hot Tequila and the WV Hillbillies were staying strong in second. However, grabbing 8 points in round 3, Here for the Beer stood strong, but the Mouseaholics snuck in with 5 bonus points ending this game in a tie! No Folk and Chance and the WV Hillbillies tied for 3rd. Our tie breaker question for the game was “The odds of being a Leapling, that is, being born on Leap Day, are 1 in what?” – Your answer 1461. Congrats to the Mouseaholics on taking first and Here for the Beer on taking 2nd. What would we see in game 2?
Game 2:
A strong game 2 to end the night. Our heavy weights of Mouseaholics, Hot Tequila and No Folk and Chance took the lead in round 1. WV Hillbillies and Sami rounded out the top 5. The Mouseaholics and Hot Tequila wanted a W this game taking a lead in round 2 with 8 and 9 points. However, round 3 took its toll on the Mouseaholics as they only netted 5 points while Hot Tequila maintained their lead taking 8 points. The Bonus questions came into play this game as the Mouseaholics took 6 bonus questions to yet again, end this game in a tie! I love these teams! Your bonus question for this game was “In November 2010, a single bottle of 64-year-old Macallan Single Malt Scotch was auctioned by Sotheby's. What was the final selling price of that bottle?” With one guess of $7300 and one guess of $1.2 million, we had our winner! Congrats to Hot Tequila on the Win and congrats to Mouseaholics on taking 2nd.
