…it’s the Mystery Machine! Who does not love Scooby Doo and the crew? Many questions such as this came up tonight in an amazing game of PubGuys Trivia at Cowtown Brewing Co.
We had our regulars of: Hot Tequila, Mouseaholics, and Tequila is better cold competing against some new teams, such as: Absolutely Not, The Pink Pelicans, Jim Adler, the Tx Hammer, and Queso the Tuesdays, and Bruce Wayne.
Game 1:
This game would come down to bonus points as all the teams were fighting for 1st or 2nd place. We saw newcomers, Bruce Wayne, take a 1-point lead after 2 rounds, but would it hold against the powerhouses of Hot Tequila, Mouseaholics or Tequila is better cold? Absolutely Not had a rough round 2, netting only 3 points, but they sure know their bonus questions as they received all 6 points. Queso the Tuesdays and Jim Adler were in the mix as well after 2 rounds, just 1 point out of first.
How would we end after round 3? It will not really surprise you with this venue…
Absolutely Not, was not going to be left behind and even though they started slow, they nailed round 3 with an amazing 8 points. Hot Tequila wanted to continue their winning ways and they and the Mouseaholics both grabbed 6 points in round 3. Due to bonus points, Bruce Wayne just missed out in the jumbled mess that was first place. Having a rough round 3, we saw Tequila is better cold fall to 4th place as we had a 3-way tie for 1st. Of Course, we had a tie!
First Bonus Question: “How many windows are in the Empire State building?” With a great guess of 3470, we knew the winner of the game! It was Absolutely Not a surprise.
Second Bonus Question: “In which year was the first 3D film released?” With a guess of 1990 we had our second-place team. Not a huge surprise here as the loveable Mouseaholics took it. For the record, the answer is 1922.

Game 2:
Sometimes you are hot, sometimes you are cold. In this case, it is much better being cold! With an amazing 15 points out in the 1st 2 rounds, we saw Tequila is better cold came out fast and furious. However, the Mouseaholics were not to be left behind and we saw them tied at the top with 15 points as well. Game 1 winners, Absolutely Not, along with The Pink Pelicans and Queso the Tuesdays were in the mix, but needed a lot of help as they were sitting at 9-points
Would he have another tie? Could Tequila is better cold find a way and stave off the Mouseaholics? What about Absolutely not and Hot Tequila? With 7 points in round 3, we saw Absolutely Not attempt to come back but with only 3 bonus points, out of 6, they could not find their mojo and move into 2nd place and finished 3rd. Hot Tequila had an ice cold round 3 and dropped to 7th leaving room for The Pink Pelicans and Queso the Tuesdays to move ahead of them. The Mouseaholics made a game of it with 4 bonus points, but they could only net 3 points in round 3, leaving room for Tequila is better cold to move ahead and take the win!
