or at least Daylight Savings time!
You must love it staying light past 5:30pm so you can enjoy the amazing patio at Cowtown Brewery in Fort Worth. We had an overflow of teams on the patio, enjoying the good weather. You crazy trivia heads always scare me as you all seem to show up 10 minutes before game time. I should have learned by now not to worry!
We had a TON of new teams this week and it was awesome! Welcome to the family: CTS Industries Crew, Homebrew Homies, Brazos Brewers, The Sharks, Big Trass, Booze Hound, That’s what she said, and Copper Pup.
Game 1:
What a start to the night! 14 amazing teams fighting for 1st and 2nd place. What a great first round with Dimestore Drinkers and Mouseaholics racking up 6 points. Not to be left in the dark we had newcomers CTS Industries at 5 points and 5 teams locked in at 4 points. Round 2 was a game changer for our regulars Hot Tequila, Tequila is better cold, and Dimestore Drinkers. Round 3 was a do or die to take 1st or 2nd. With an amazing 8 points and 4 bonus points we saw that tiny rat pack, Mouseaholics, take 1st. CONGRATS! With 7 points and 3 bonus points in the end, we had Dimestore Drinkers sneak out a 2nd place victory. Tequila is Better Cold and Booze Hound were in the hunt but fell just short, tying for 3rd. What an amazing start to the game!
Game 2:
Not to be outdone, game 2 was just as amazing as game 1. With an amazing 7 teams tied for 1st after round 1, you know this was going to be a crazy, knockdown, drag out fight to the end. As I tell everyone, BONUS POINTS, BONUS POINTS, BONUS POINTS! You cannot win without getting at least 4 bonus points. We saw that tonight. No Folk and Chance had an amazing evening netting 5 points each round (nice consistency there) and 4 bonus points putting them in the lead and taking the W with 19 points. Just falling short of 1st, we saw the Mouseaholics and Homebrew Homies end at 18 with Booze Hounds and Hot Tequila just short at 17 points. What an amazing end to a great night. Of course, you all had to end 1 game with a tie. Our Tie Breaker came down to the following question: “When the British Empire switched over to the Gregorian Calendar, how many days were lost?”. With one team guessing 3 and the second team guessing 32, we had a winner. Only 11 days were lost! Congrats to the Mouseaholics on taking 2nd with a guess of 3.
Thanks to Gavin, Heather, Hope, Christiana, Rob and Patrick (The Amazing Cowtown Brewery team) for taking care of everyone. This place was PACKED!
Come join us next Tuesday from 7pm to 9pm for another night of amazing PubGuys trivia!
Until then…
Slàinte Mhaith and Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
