…it was a crazy night of Trivia at Cowtown Brewing Co.! 2 fun filled games of crazy questions and even crazier answers. We added a new twist tonight and ALL bonus questions were based on Disney Princess’. Apparently, we have some Disney fans at Cowtown!
We had our regulars of: Pocket, Mouseaholics, Absolutely Not, The Sharks and No folk and chance competing against some new teams, such as: We drink and forget things, Cutters, E=MC Hammered, The Yank and the Red Coat, Yo Pros and Strangers at the bar.
Game 1:
It was no surprise after question 1 what the theme would be as I wanted to know an answer about Snow White and the 7 Dwarves. We soon found out that newcomers Yo Pros came to play, but could they maintain the momentum? They were tied in first with No Folk and Chance and Mouseaholics at 6 points. Absolutely Not and Pocket were also in the mix just 1 point shy at 5. We had a couple of teams start late and were playing catchup. However, The Canucks were in the show at 4 points.
It was clear our 2nd place teams knew their Disney trivia as the got all 6 questions correct. However, Yo Pros, showed why they are pros and took a 2-point lead in round 2. Pocket and Absolutely Not took a fall in round 2 dropping 2 points to Mouseaholics and No folk and chance.
Going into round 3, our 2nd place teams were all tied up at 15 points (with bonus questions). Could they make up the 2 points they lost in round 2? Unfortunately, not. With 8 points in round 3 and missing just 1 bonus question, Yo Pros took the W in game 1. Thinking, for sure, that we would not end in a tie thanks to the bonus questions, I was quickly proven wrong as No Folk and Chance and Mouseaholics tied at 23. Pocket and Absolutely Not tried to overcome their stumble in round 2 but alas, they could not and tied for 4th. The rest of our new teams played very well for their first night and I know they will be in the mix for a win sooner rather than later!
Our tie breaker question was about a family favorite game…Skeeball! How long was the original skeeball court? We had one guess of 40ft and one guess of 20ft. Congrats to No Folk and Chance on getting the closest to 36ft and taking 2nd place! What a great game!

Game 2:
With Tequila is better cold and Hot Tequila taking a night off, what would we see in game 2? No a surprise that the Mouseaholics came out strong after missing a winning spot in game one and got 8 points in round 1. No Folk and Chance were right on their heels with 6 along with Pocket and The Canucks at 5 points.
Round 2 we saw No Folk and Chance put out some mice traps and take a 3-point lead over Mouseaholics as they netted 7 points vs 4. Again, both teams were doing amazingly well, and all tied on bonus points through 2 rounds. The yank and the redcoat and Pocket were fighting for 2nd place but with a rough 2nd and 3rd round we would see them drop into a tie for 3rd.
Round 3, with 2 bonus questions left, could be a game winner for either No Folk and Chance and Mouseaholics. It was one of theirs to lose. From Van Goh to Sri Lanka this was a tough round, but we have resilient players who know their trivia! Mouseaholics gained a point on No Folk and Chance but missed out on 1 of the 2 bonus questions, which they needed after dropping 3 points in round 2. No Folk and Chance dropped a point on the regular questions but once again they got all 6 bonus questions right. They must have had a lot of Princess’ on their team or at least they all love Disney movies. That 1 bonus point allowed them to take a 1-point lead over Mouseaholics and the W for game 2! Thankfully we did not end in a tie, but it was an amazingly close finish! Congrats to all the teams and thank you for coming out to play PubGuys Trivia. I know we started a little late due to some equipment issues, but we got the game rolling and only finished 10 minutes late. You all rock!
