Game 1:
The weather was nice, the patio doors were open, the beer was flowing, the BBQ was divine and PubGuys trivia was in the house!
2 rounds into game 1 and we had our regulars, Mouseaholics, in the lead by 2 points sitting at 13. We welcomed back Jersey! for their final night in Texas before heading back to New Jersey for the summer and they were sitting in 2nd place at 11 points, tied with newcomers Swabians. Jersey, have a safe summer and we will see you in the fall! Newcomers Gobble Wobble and The Dude Abides were sitting close at 9 points.
The bonus questions this round was based on Disney movies. From Moana to Mary Poppins, we had a wide range. Who would channel their inner childhood and whose score would go Hocus Pocus?
The Mouseaholics maintained their strong performance with 8 points in round 3 and 5 of 8 bonus points. Hot Tequila were performing well but they and Jersey landed just short of 2nd place at 18 pints. Gobble Wobble, for never playing before, did awesome at 17 points. However, it was newcomers, Swabians and The Dude Abides that ended up tying for 2nd place by a single point at 19.
Another week, another game, another bonus question. Here we go! Measuring Imperial Gallons in a buttload we had 2 guesses. One team went 1.25 and another 2.6…both were nowhere close to the 126 Imperial Gallons but a guess of 2.6 was the winner!

Game 2:
This round would have bonus questions all based on LOTR. Who would channel their inner Tolkien? We would see!
Another fast start for the Mouseaholics but Gobble Wobble pulled out all the stops as both teams were tied at 9 points. Hot Tequila were still finding their stride, but they were in the mix at 7 points. BMF and I quizzed my pants were fighting to stay in the mix and were just out of moving into 2nd place by 2 points.
Gobble Wobble must have gone on a turkey trot in round 3 with only 1 point for the round. Would they be able to hold of those behind them? We would see! BMF and I quizzed my pants took advantage getting 5 points in the final round as well as Hot Tequila who only took 3 points but with a decent round 2, they were moving up. With all the top 4 teams, in round 3, getting 5 of 8 bonus points, who would take 1st and who would take 2nd? With 3 good round and 5 bonus points, the Mouseaholics were repeating their performance of game 1 and they took 1st place again!
It was one of those nights and we had a repeat for 2nd place in game 2 except we had a 3-way tie for 2nd place. One question, 1 place, 3 teams. Who would come out on top? We went with science for the bonus question and with the atmosphere on a standard day at static sea level conditions, about how fast is the speed of sound? We had a guess well over 1000, a guess of 700 and a guess of 720. With a guess of 720, we had our 2nd place team. Congrats to Hot Tequila!

What a great ending to a fun night! It is always an exciting time during PubGuys Trivia at Cowtown Brewery Co. on Tuesday nights.
