…it is a Family!
Sometimes we need to take a step back from the fun and antics of trivia and realize just how precious our Trivia Family is. It was with a sad heart last night, that I found out one of our regulars at Cowtown, passed away. The Sharks lost the mother of their team, Mary Cecilia (CeCe). Before we began our games, we had a toast in celebration of her amazing life and to honor her memory. She has been a regular of our Trivia family at Cowtown over the past 2 years. She will be missed but will also be remembered! Here’s to you CeCe!
Specials at Cowtown during Trivia include $15 pitchers on select beers and you get 3x the Trailblazer rewards as well!
Game 1:
After our heart felt cheers to CeCe, we started our night of Trivia. A quick start and a tight game after 2 rounds. The Mouseaholics and No Folk and Chance were tied at 11 points. However, hot on their tails were The Usual Suspects, Old Ballz, Hot Tequila and The Hugh Janus fan club.
With bonus questions based on famous drummers, some teams were enjoying their bonus points while others were banging their head like a foot pedal beating a bass drum. Hot Tequila, Mouseaholics and No Folk and Chance know their drummers as they took all 8 bonus points. However, Hot Tequila fell just short, as did the usual suspects as they ended the game tied in 3rd at 23 points. No Folk and Chance and Mouseaholics fought it out to the bitter end, and just like old times, ended up tied for 1st place at 27 points.
1 final question, 1 winner, with a guess of 1808 and a guess of 1842, we had the winner! I was looking for the year that the Reno brothers carried out the train robbery in US History. Congrats to the Mouseaholics!
Honorary Winners – The Sharks
1st place Game 1 – Mouseaholics
2nd place Game 1 – No Folk and Chance
Game 2:
Who does not like wrestlers that starred in movies? From The Rock to Andre the Giant and Hulk Hogan, we had some fun bonus questions for game 2.
Rounds 1 and 2 went quick and so did some of the team scores. With 10 points in the first 2 rounds, The Usual Suspects and Mouseaholics came out dominate. They had a quick 5-point lead over the other teams and never looked back. No Folk and Chance, Hot Tequila and Old Ballz tried their best to get themselves off the mat, but the 3 count came fast before round 3 began.
It was a titanic steel cage match between our top teams. Who would find a way to channel their inner Rock and use the ‘People’s Elbow’ to win the match? Could the Mouseaholics get cold and use the ‘Stone Cold Stunner’ to finish off The Usual Suspects? We had our final moves; we had our final round and we had our 3 count as The Usual suspects took down the Mouseaholics with 10 points in round 3 to take the W and the championship belt!
Congrats to our game 2 winners!
1st place Game 2 – The Usual suspects
2nd place Game 2 – Mouseaholics
