I'm back again with PubGuys Trivia at Cowtown Brewing Co., filling in for The Angry Irishman as he enjoys a much needed vacation! We saw some of the teams from WoB again, with Jerk Store and Got Here Late representing once again. Those were just two of the eighteen teams we had, as well as sixty-eight players! As usual the food was great, and the staff was friendly, just remember these specials if you come out next week:

Let's get into what happened during Game 1!

Game 1

At the beginning of Game 1 Jerk Store and Hot Tequila were in the top three, holding back other serious contenders like The Sexy Enchiladas and The Girls Room. For this Game, and Game 2, we had three rounds with 7 questions each. With two of those questions being bonus questions, we typically keep a theme going on for the last two. This week I kept the theme American, since the 4th of July is so close! At the end of Game 1 we had Ara's Angel's in 1st place with Last Place Legends, ironically, not in last place, and taking 2nd! Here's a question that stumped almost everyone:

• Where did Edward Snowden first go after his leaking of US classified documents? 

This was a multi-choice question, so the players had the option of: Hong Kong, Russia, Ecuador or Switzerland. Only two teams got it right, the correct answer was:

• Hong Kong

Game 2

Most of the teams form Game 1 stuck around for Game 2, even though we had a late start due to having so many players! For this game I bumped up the difficulty of some of the bonus questions, so there weren't so many close games. Funnily enough, though, we ended up having a tie for 1st and 2nd place! The Girls Place and Beer Pressure really stepped up their effort in this game, coming in the top three several times in Rounds 1 & 2. At the end of Game 2 we had a tie between The Girls Room and Beer Pressure for 1st place, and S & M and Zak to the Future for 2nd place. The Girls Room and Zak to the Future won 1st and 2nd, respectively, but they were still stumped by one of my "American" bonus questions:

• Which American patriot is known for his famous words, "I regret that I have but one life to lose for my country," before being executed by the British during the American Revolution?

A lot of people said Paul Revere, an number of former presidents, and even Paul Bunyan, but they were all wrong. The correct answer was:

• Nathan Hale
