You read that headline correctly. On the final night of the 3rd installment of the PubGuys Trivia League, 2 teams decided they would not go quietly into the night. Up to that point, it had been a fiercely contested affair in a rare, intimate setting. In game 1, The Mouseaholics just edged out the rest the competition including This is Our PLC who took home second place. In the second game, things progressed rather normally until the game reached what everyone thought was the conclusion. However, on the Kitchen Timer question, some ground was made up and the end result was a tie. Now ties are nothing new to PubGuys Trivia. We have them occasionally and we certainly are well-equipped to handle them. However, it's always assumed that a single tiebreaker will do the trick. Not on this night. No, This is Our PLC and The Mouseaholics were able to come up with the same answers for 3 separate tiebreaker questions. The first time the same answers are turned in for a tiebreaker is simply a coincidence, the second is usually funny, the third causes the host to lose his freakin' mind, leading to a FOURTH tiebreaker question. At this point, I was delirious and I think I may have blacked out. All I recall is that mercifully after the fourth question, I finally was given 2 different answers concerning the total number of islands which make up Venice, Italy. When it was all over, the best guess belonged to This is Our PLC.
Congratulations to all our teams, and especially This is Our PLC who, with their victory, locked up the victory for the PubGuys Trivia League!
Now, if you're reading this, you really, REALLY want that bonus point. Well, since I'm super late posting the write-up (admittedly, it took me a few days to recover from those tiebreaker questions), I'll make it very easy for you. Simply tell me the final score from Game 7 of this year's NBA Finals.
