So I've given you poetry, I've rewritten a song, I've railed on browser history, and I've even rewritten the poem from the Statue of Liberty. It's time for another first. This post is the first from the sky! That's right, I'm writing this post from 31K feet while I'm on my way to Chicago. And I know your next question; no, I won't be there this coming week for the Star Wars trivia night, nor will I be back in time for our usual Wednesday night trivia.
But don't worry, both trivia nights are sure to go off without a hitch with Kyle and Terrill at the helm. Speaking of our Star Wars night, if you're not planning on coming out for that, you need to clear your calendars and come on out. It promises to be an epic night and you won't want to miss it.
So back to the present. I'm sitting on the plane, munching on some overpriced Chex Mix and sipping on a gin & tonic. Woot. First class is definitely the way to travel. I can say that because I'm cramped back in coach, and this is after a 30 minute delay at the gate....after we boarded the plane. Apparently someone can't figure out how much fuel a plane needs to fly. I could use this as an opportunity to discuss some of the more terrifying or frustrating flights I've had in my life, but truthfully, this isn't that bad. There are no screaming children....yet, I'm not squeezed into the middle seat between Sumo wrestlers, and thankfully, the A/C is working fine. All in all, this is, so far, a routine flight. What was not routine, however, was our trivia experience this past Wednesday night. First off, I apologize for all the issues. Secondly, thank you to everyone that showed up for your patience. Third, if you didn't notice anything was wrong, I guess I'm doing better at my job than I originally thought. Unlike actual flying (in a plane), flying solo (at trivia) sucks. Trust me, I know I'm spoiled. Having Terrill and Kyle there to clean up my mess (figuratively) and score all the sheets while I just saunter around and chat with players, is absolutely a luxury. Frankly, I feel I've earned it. In a previous life, I hosted trivia by myself weekly for over 4 years and could honestly never even think of having another person there to assist. And since we started PubGuys Trivia, I've been very lucky to have those two knuckleheads (read: gentlemen) at my side.
Enough babbling, onto the game. Congratulations to our winners. There, short and sweet.
Now, here's some fun stuff we learned along the way:

EDIT: So the internet on the plane went down as I was submitting this. So it's a day later than planned and being posted from my 5th floor hotel room, so I'm still pretty high.
