First off, thank you so very much for suffering with me through these long week's of Adam's absence. Rumour has it that his fungal infection is in remission after his trip to specialists in Moldova and that he'll return to the mic next week, possibly as early as Monday for our Game of Thrones special trivia night at World of Beer in Arlington. I'm sure, when he does return, that Adam will be happy to tell you all about his infection and how it was cured.
In the meantime, however, what a night it was! The beer was flowing (a special shout-out to Chris from No Label Brewing for being there with us), the No Label Hatchfish and Potatoes were great and the competition was fierce. In the end, it was The Mouseaholics and This IS Our PLC that split the honours on the night. PLC grabbed first place then second place while The Mouseaholics reversed that pattern and came in second place, then first. Congratulations to both teams.
Along the way we learned that while you know your Charlie Chaplin movies, you don't really know the content; but, that's ok. Those movies are old and we, well, we're not. Or, as one team so eloquently put it "Who the f*** is Charlie Chaplin".
We also discovered that you don't really care about the Grammy Awards if they are more than a few months old. Almost nobody knew that Gotye beat out Taylor Swift for the coveted Record of the Year Award waaaaay back in 2013. But, then again, that, too, is old news...or, as we like to call it Trivia!
Tell Adam, when you see him next Wednesday the answer to this question to get a point:
Add the number of Conference Championships held by TCU football to the number of Mayors in Fort Worth's history and multiply the result by the number of Gold Medals won by Rahr & Sons Brewery at this year's GABF.
I'll see you in the stacks.
