Always good to be back at Dr. Jeckylls to host PubGuys Trivia. Best wishes to Stephen for a speedy recovery from his recent illness.
We started off with seven teams - Here for the Beer and Tortillas 3 dropped out before the finish line. The Driving Crooners jumped out to an early lead - thanks for their knowledge of 1970's deep cut classic rock songs. How do these young people know so much about the 70's? Last of the Pantegans got off to a slow start but slowly began cutting into the lead where they were within four points going into the final round. Return of the D bags were steady all night and within 5 points of the lead most of the way.
The sixth round was interesting to say the least. Lots of difficult questions and a few three pointers. Last of the Pantegans got their butts kicked the least and made a charge reminiscent of Stanford against Colorado last Friday. When the final tally was counted only one point separated the top two teams. What a relief as I had no tiebreaker question ready to go. Congratulations to the Crooners and hats off to LOTP for their furious rally.
In a photo finish, the Crooners bested LOTP by one point to get the victory. Unendangered finished fourth - with the exception of one bad round they could have been a contender.
It was a great night with good music and good beer. Nathan always takes good care of us and John Valentine made an early appearance. I hope to see everyone again soon. Until then, stay thirsty my friends.
