As always, it was good to be back at the place where I first played this game called pub trivia six years ago when I began working in Arlington. Thanks to Stephen Fornal who let me sub for him as he enjoyed some cool Rocky Mountain air with Lara. We had eight teams and the place, as usual, was rocking with tasty beer, good music, and an excellent atmosphere. For those of you who like to play trivia, I challenge you to find a better venue than Jeckyll's.

The night started off being a tight game and stayed that way until the end. There was never more than two points that separated first place from second. The Driving Crooner seized first place in round 1 and stayed in first until round 4 when Sorry We're on Tinder tied them. But in round 5, Crooner must have got angry because they came back with a perfect round. Going into round 6, we had four teams within three points of first. Morning After Pilsner had an excellent round and ended up tied with Crooner after regulation.

I started sudden death with just a regular question: What animal was the mascot of Bud Ice? Neither team got it - penguin. Then I went to a quantitatitve, who guesses the closest to the real number, question. It was, in billions of gallons, what is the annual consumption of beer in the US? Crooner was closest to the correct answer of 6.4 billion. Congratulations! And great job by all the other teams who stayed and played hard.

Nate the bartender did a great job keeping me and everyone else sufficiently hydrated throughout the evening. I hope to show up and just play some night soon. It's simply too fun to skip on a Monday night.
