In today's edition of "Who writes these questions anyway?!"
Seven teams entered and only one had the wits and will to claim the price and saunter into the night unscathed!
That sounded mildly threatening. Less Hunger Games and more The Rat Race, I promise.
Our questions ran the gamut of entertainment and bewilderment.
We learned that a certain boxer does not understand what the word "retirement" means. How the road to hell is paved, and that I should NEVER ask this crowd again what the letters for D.A.R.E stand for.
My favorite of course, was literature related
What is the second volume of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings trilogy?
And I did not even shame the people who did not know it. What a friend.
The least liked question was
Who was the British Prime Minister in 1999?
Which nobody answered correctly, yet made enough noise about it to start another Falkland's War.

One of our teams was down a player, let us hope that Brewsters's John returns home and to our Tuesday night as soon as he is able. Of all my recalcitrant trivia children, he is amongst the favorites.
2 for Tuesday also made an appearance, they are the Halley Comet of players. It is always a treat to get to see them when they come.
Two new teams joined the madhouse, Trebek's Rejects and TBD, none of them ran away screaming so it seemed they fit right in.
My personal coup d'etat was reaching full potential as a menace. Our team Not Homeless Anymore received a phone call, daring to interrupt our Round 5. The phone was brought to me, I harassed a hapless son trying to figure out WTH was going on, and now my urban legend status is cemented.
All in all, the night was a riot and our scoreboard ended thusly:
Brewsters (minus one) coming in first place, with 44. Let's Get Quizzical, taking second this time, with 42. Trebek's Rejects, landed third with 36 and Not Homeless Anymore closed our top 4 with 27 points.
