Another rousing game of trivia! I know, I am so witty, I kill myself. 

The Holidays have approached with the speed and impact of a freight train. Twinkle lights, cheerful Poinsettias, Mariah Carey and Wham shattering the peace, as we find ourselves nearing the finish line of 2021. 

Tonight's Trivia was attended by a few new teams, while still being led by our regulars Brewsters and Let's get quizzical. 

The questions were greeted with less animosity than usual. Either my teams are really embracing their masochistic side, or our Question Master took pity on them.

There were benign examples such as:

Who was the first Italian-American to serve on the Supreme Court?

Yet not so friendly queries such as:

The robot character Twiki can be found in which science fiction TV series?

These showed our teams to be thankful for the simple things in life. Welcome to our version of the holiday spirit.

During the first half of our game, competition was brutal. The gladiators of old would have been proud... If their weapons where writing utensils and wicked paper cuts.

Yet during the second half of the evening one of our teams channeled Gaius Julius Caesar, and raising their finger to the sky in defiance of Gods and men, declared "dis is mine". And promptly took the lead. 

The undisputed winners of the night, claiming 45 out of the 58 total points, was Blue Ballers.

Let's Get Quizzical landed second with 38, La Vine came third with 37, while Brewsters stuck close by at 33. The Half Assers, Shonski, and Oh Happy Day brought up the rear. 

Next week is our second to last game for this year, come and join us celebrate the Holidays and the end of this (Hopefully) inimitable year.
