False Idol Brewing

This week in The Wolf Den at False Idol we had another great time with PubGuys trivia! With 10 teams and almost 50 players it was pretty packed! Also my home team, The Team With No Name, showed up in force this time, with six of them showing up to give their support to local breweries (and to win, of course). This week was no different than every week: two Themed rounds and one Kitchen Timer bonus round for a chance to win a $50 gift card to False Idol Brewing. On top of that each round we give a scoring update and every team has a shot to get a round of free tasters for their table if they win the round. There's also Daddy B's food truck out here every week service up hot, delicious food for everyone to enjoy. Fresh beer and free trivia, bring some friends!

Game Summary

The regulars were back at it again with Fire on MountainBronze MedalersPass the Ball Jake, and Hel & Heimdall all coming out again this week for trivia. We also had some new teams like Brew CrewPartial CreditWhiskey Chicken, and Electric Mayhem throw down with the regulars for a chance to win. The theme for one of the Themed rounds was China, meaning that all the questions/answers had something to do with China in them. Every Themed round every team has a chance to add a bonus point to their overall score, and at the end they could add 10 points during the Kitchen Timer round. This gives everyone, even those who are behind 8 or 9 points, a chance to come back and win it. That actually happened this week with Pass the Ball, Jake beating Brew Crew and Bronze Medalers by ONE point! Otherwise, it would have been a 3-way tie, and we would have had to have brought out the Tiebreaker of Doom (I just made that up). Here's a question that stumped everyone:

  • During the 2014 games, how much was a US Olympic gold medalist awarded by the U.S. Olympic Commission?

There were several teams that were close, but close only counts in Horseshoes and hand grenades. Nobody got the correct answer, which was:

  • $25,000

You're almost guaranteed to have a good time every week in The Wolf Den at False Idol Brewing with PubGuys trivia! I'm not even playing, technically, but I still have a GREAT time! It doesn't hurt that their beers are extremely fantastic, and the staff is very friendly, too! I don't think I've ever mentioned it before but False Idol is dog friendly as well, so bring your furry friend with you to trivia and have some fun! There's always a new beer to try, and the food truck menu is always top notch. Hope to see you next week!
