It was a packed house in The Wolf Den this week with 12 teams and 40 players going at it for a chance at free beer or a $50 gift card to False Idol Brewing. I had the pleasure of trying their barrel aged stout Summer Body Ready, which is a limited run beer that has notes of cinnamon and maple. I was also able to try their double dry hopped triple IPA Do You Know Chata? as well, which was very good. Be sure to come out with some of your friends because, if you play trivia and you win 1st place, each round of the game you win free beer tasters for your team! In addition to that Thursdays are Steal the Pint night at False Idol, so you can take a pint glass home with you when you purchase one of their select beers.
Game 1
This game was a blast since we had several of our regular teams that have a high win rate, like Poop Squaaaaad! (formerly Bronze Medalers) and The Flame and the Void. There were also some new teams, like Industrial Mooses and Beauty & the Beast that made victory a little harder for the regulars. Surprisingly, even though Beauty & the Beast was only a two person team they actually took 2nd place overall over much larger teams. At the end of the night, though, Industrial Mooses won the game with a 3 point lead over 2nd place. Although they won the $50 gift card each round had different teams winning the FREE beer tasters. Here's the question that stumped all the teams but one:

I can only imagine the crowds are going to get bigger when the weather gets warmer, so make sure you come on out to False Idol Brewing to put your brain to the test! They also have a food truck outside serving up delicious chicken sandwiches, beer-braised French dips, and even poutine!
