Anyone in the area knew there was a winter storm rolling through so this week we did a special Wednesday edition of trivia in The Wolf Den at False Idol Brewing! Because it was a last minute change we didn't have many regulars this time, but the people who did show up had a great time (or so I heard). We were still able to squeeze in a Kitchen Timer bonus round as well as two Themed rounds, so we kept the energy up and the beers flowing. I gave their Tokyo Drift hazy IPA a shot, and it was so good I took a 4-pack home! I also tried their Double Letter Vienna style lager that really reminded me of Dos Equis with lime already added; it was great, too!
Game 1
So since this week was a special game, and False Idol closed a little bit earlier than normal, we did a 4 round game and wrapped it up with a Kitchen Timer bonus round. Almost every team was a new team, but one team actually came out specifically because they knew trivia was moved up a day: Kicked out of Hawaiian Bros. They were joined by HD - 2, Poobie Snoobins, and US - Dave. It was still a close game with the limited team selection, and as always there was one question that stumped everyone:
Which Swiss tennis player, named after Martina Navratilova, spent 209 weeks ranked at #1 for women's singles?
There were a few guesses like Sharapova and "Tennis No Bueno", but those were way off. The correct answer was:
Martina Hingis
We'll be back to our regularly scheduled programming next week at False Idol Brewing on Thursday night from 7 to 9 PM, weather permitting. Let's hope this is the only winter storm of the year and it only gets warmer from here on out! I know that I'm more of a warm weather person, so I'm more than ready for this cold weather to disappear. Until next Thursday!
