…mid-August and it’s not 103!
We had Total Recall, Brett’s Baby Mama, LLR, Dimestore Drinkers and Lovenerds joining us again! They would face off with some new teams, The Talking Heads, ELP Group, Finders-Keepers, Five Dogs no kids and Patriots. Would one of our regulars pull off a victory? Could a new team take down the regulars? We would see!
After 2 rounds we had Total Recall take the lead, but it was not a large one as they were just a single point ahead of Finders-Keepers, Five Dogs no Kids and Brett’s Baby Mama. Lovernerds was in the mix, just 3 points out of the tie for 2nd. Dimestore Drinkers were knocking off the rust but were still hanging in there with 7 points.
This was a very competitive game tonight! 5 rounds in, we had a tie for 1st between Total Recall and Finders-Keepers. They would battle it out until the bitter end. Five Dogs No Kids found themselves in a solid 3rd place, only 4 points out of first and having a 4-point lead over Dimestore Drinkers. Lovenerds had a tough go in rounds 3 and 5, netting a mere 4 points from those 2 rounds. They were at 19 points and fighting for a 3rd place finish, but they were down 6 points going into the final round. However, I have seen crazier things happen in PubGuys trivia!
Our final round, the final countdown, the end of the game was here. Round 6, here we go. Finders-Keepers wanted to show their mental power and went for it all, putting all their chips in, they got an amazing 10 points in round 6. However, the master mind, Total Recall, was not afraid as they also received an amazing 10 points in round 6. Dimestore Drinkers needed just a little more lubricant to get the mental gears going tonight. They tied 5 Dogs No kids in the final round, leaving them in 4th place. Congrats to 5 Dogs no kids on their 3rd place finish! I hope to see you next week.
Going out in a blaze of glory, we had a TIE for 1st between Finders-Keepers and Total Recall. I had to come up with a fun question, so I wanted to know: “In what year was Mardi Gras first celebrated in New Orleans?” We had a guess in the 1500’s and a guess in the 1800’s.
