A fine summer evening in Texas. The moon was out, the heat was on (as in this trivia game was hot!), cold drinks and amazing food. You could not ask for a better night!
We had some of our regulars make an appearance tonight: Couple of Hayters, TexCub and Brett’s baby mama. They were out competing for a win against some new teams: Mean Green, Hammer Fist, GP’s Finest and Fuzzy Pickles to name a few.
Who knows which TMNT wears the red bandana? A great opening salvo for the night! With 1 round down we could see it was going to be a tight, close game! With 3 teams getting an amazing 6-points to start the night, this would come down to the wire!
With 3 rounds in we had a titanic fight going on at Hayters! With Fuzzy Pickles, Green Days of our Lives sitting at the top with an amazing 18 points. Not to be taken lightly though, Brett’s Baby Mama was just 1 point behind at 17. TexCub had started off slow with only 4-points in round 1 but they cannot be so easily dismissed as they were in the mix at 16-points. This would come down to the final round and a couple of random bonus questions.
Going into our final round of the night, it was too close to call. With a great Sports question coming up and a fun final question, which team would prevail. To end the night, our final question was “According to legend, what is the name of the owner of the cow that started the Great Chicago Fire of 1871?” I gave a point if you just got Mrs. O’Leary. However, if you knew the full name, I gave you a bonus point. I was looking for “Mrs. Catherine "Cate" O'Leary.”
With an amazing 10-points in the final round, Brett’ Baby Mama took the win! TexCub got an amazing 9-points to make a comeback that will be talked about for weeks, to take 3rd place. One of our new teams, Fuzzy Pickles, while they had a slip in round 6, they did enough to keep a 1-point lead over TexCub and took 2nd place! What a great ending to an amazing night!
