A toasty Thursday evening at Hayters Bar and Lounge. You must love the Texas, summer heat. Or not! While we had room outside, our Trivia heads opted to stay inside this evening and enjoy the AC.
We had some of our regulars make an appearance tonight: Couple of Hayters, Dimestore Drinkers and Weapons of Mass Consumption. They were out competing for a win. We had Dos Millers return this week, and 2 newcomers with Legendary Frogs and Bubbly Newts.
Round 1 was a tad tough for 3 teams, only getting 2 or 3 points in for the round. We had Bubbly Newts and one of the favored teams, Dimestore Drinkers, come out of the gates with 6 points each. Weapons of Mass Consumption hung in the middle with 4 points. Rounds 2 and 3 we started to see some separation from the top 2 teams as Dimestore Drinkers and newcomers Bubbly Newts showed their brain power, separation from the pack with at least 16 points over 3 rounds where our other teams were struggling with the 3rd place team down at 8 points. Round 5 we saw Weapons of Mass Consumption start to find their stride getting a whopping 7 points. However, the top 2 teams were in a dog fight for 1st and would not relent, also getting 7 points each in round 5. It was a fight to the final bell and only a 3-point lead between them with Dimestore Drinkers at 34 points. The final round would find out who our victor was. Bubbly Newts got a nice 6 points in the final round and sadly, or not, Dimestore Drinkers may have had 1 to many as they only received 3 points. With a reversal of fortune, we saw Bubbly Newts take a 3-point lead over Dimestore Drinkers and take the WIN! What a great finish to a great night of trivia at Hayters Bar and Lounge!
