The teams were set, the beers were cold, and I was ready to rock-n-roll at Keyworth Brewing Co.!

Game 1: Neck-and-Neck ‘Til the End

Game 1 started strong, with The Poppy Ollies setting the tone early by grabbing the Round 1 lead with an impressive 6 points. Habeus Corpus Christi and Killer Rabbits stayed hot on their heels, both earning 5 points. But as always, consistency would prove key.

In Round 2, Oreos and Blue Tailed Hawks surged, each scoring 6, while The Poppy Ollies slipped a bit with 4. Suddenly, the leaderboard tightened, with six teams sitting within just a couple of points of each other.

By Round 3, the tension was real. Oreos and Habeus Corpus Christi both came in clutch with 8-point rounds, while Killer Rabbits stayed in the mix with 6. Bonus question points proved decisive: Killer Rabbits scored the max 3, but it wasn’t quite enough to leapfrog into first.

When the scores were tallied, it was a tie at the top: Oreos and Habeus Corpus Christi both ended with 18 points! Killer Rabbits were right behind with 17, making for one of the tightest finishes we’ve seen yet.

Game 2: Déjà Vu or Destiny?

The second game brought a fresh round of drinks and renewed focus—and the leaderboard looked hauntingly familiar.

Habeus Corpus Christi came out swinging again, notching 5 points in Round 1. Killer Rabbits and Slavery is Bad also hit 5, keeping things spicy from the start. However, The Poppy Ollies once again grabbed early momentum with a 6-point opener.

Round 2 saw Oreos and Blue Tailed Hawks matching their earlier performances with another 6-point round each, and Did You Know? We Don’t Know keeping pace with 4. It was anybody’s game going into Round 3.

And then—it happened again. Oreos and Habeus Corpus Christi both crushed Round 3 with 8 points, pulling into a dead heat just like Game 1. Once again, Killer Rabbits came close, falling just a single point short despite another perfect 3-point bonus.

Final scores told the story: another 18-point tie between Oreos and Habeus Corpus Christi, with Killer Rabbits locked in a painfully familiar third-place finish at 17.

Closing Thoughts

It was a night of close calls, huge swings, and seriously smart teams. Oreos and Habeus Corpus Christi proved unstoppable, while Killer Rabbits kept us on the edge of our seats in both games. The crowd was amazing, the brewery staff kept the good vibes flowing, and as always—fun was had by all. Can’t wait to see who takes the crown next Thursday!
