Trivia Night at Keyworth Brewing Co was one for the books! This week, we decided to mix things up by hosting a single, extended game to test the mental endurance of our players. The stakes were high, the competition was fierce, and the energy in the room was electric. With every team bringing their A-game, it was clear from the start that this would be a trivia battle to remember!
From the get-go, the newcomers, Study Buddies, made a statement. Through the first three rounds, they were an unstoppable force, dominating the scoreboard and sitting comfortably in first place. Their impressive start had the crowd buzzing, and for a moment, it seemed like they were on the verge of a runaway victory. But this is trivia night at Keyworth—anything can happen, and no lead is ever truly safe!
As the game progressed, the competition tightened. Entering the middle rounds, Killer Rabbit and Beer Pressure turned up the heat, refusing to let Study Buddies run away with the win. Slowly but surely, they chipped away at the lead, putting immense pressure on the front-runners. Meanwhile, Blue Tailed Hawks were lurking just behind them, keeping themselves in striking distance for a top finish.
By the end of round five, the tension was palpable. Study Buddies could feel the competition closing in, and their once-commanding lead was slipping through their fingers. Round six proved to be the turning point of the game. While other teams managed to put points on the board, Study Buddies were left stunned with a score of zero for the round—a devastating blow that derailed their momentum. Suddenly, what had seemed like a sure victory was now very much in doubt.
Sensing an opportunity, Killer Rabbit went into overdrive. Their late-game surge was nothing short of spectacular, outpacing Study Buddies in the final three rounds to catch up to the leaders. As the final scores were tallied, the room erupted in excitement—we had a tie for first place! Killer Rabbit and Study Buddies were now deadlocked at the top, setting up a thrilling tiebreaker showdown.
Not to be forgotten, Beer Pressure and Blue Tailed Hawks both put up valiant efforts and ended the game tied for third place, while Saguro Scholars rounded out the top five. It was a testament to just how competitive the night had been, with multiple teams battling tooth and nail for a top spot.
With the title on the line, it all came down to one final question. Each team selected a representative for the tiebreaker—a single question where the closest answer would determine the winner. The room fell silent as the question was read, the tension reaching its peak. Ten seconds later, we had our champion.
Congratulations to Killer Rabbit on taking first place after an epic comeback! They showed incredible determination, pacing themselves perfectly throughout the game and delivering when it mattered most. A huge shoutout to Study Buddies for an outstanding performance and securing second place in their very first appearance at Keyworth Brewing Co. trivia night. Their strong start and overall effort proved that they will be a force to reckon with in future games!
