Below freezing temperatures, slippery roads, and no WAY I was going to put my car at risk, we're back again at Chuggin Monk with PubGuys Trivia after missing a week due to some pretty terrible weather. The area around Chuggin Monk is especially hilly, so we decided to pump the breaks and come back this week. And, to my surprise, we had a lot of players show up! We had seven teams and around 20 players, so it was a very busy game full of 1st place lead switcharoos, and lots of alcohol. Here's what happened:

Game Summary

So, it seems like we had one big group that split into smaller groups, but that did not make them any less competitive. Holding out the top three spots throughout most of the game we had Jack & Rose, We Are Smarticus, and 3 Brain Cells. Although they did not win, Celebrating 75 deserves honorable mention for hanging with the other teams while they flip-flopped between 1st and 4th places. 3 Brain Cells and Jack & Rose ended up taking 1st and 2nd place, respectively, with We Are Smarticus not far behind in 3rd. Here's a question that stumped everyone:

  • What was the term coined by Mikhail Gorbachev to describe his policy of openness and transparency near the end of the cold war?

I'm not very surprised nobody got this right, but a few teams got very close. The correct answer was:

  • Glasnost

I'm still on the lookout for a Monk, or possibly multiple(?) monks, but I'll still keep chuggin without them, as is tradition. Come on out next week with PubGuys Trivia at Chuggin Monk in Arlington for more fun, FREE, trivia with your fantastic host: ME! The beer is always flowing and the staff is friendly, I'll see you next week for more trivia!
