Hi, I'm Scott, the guy whose tiny, meaningless mistakes almost led to a total cluster***** the last time I filled in for Stephen. In my defense, it was only my second time hosting PGs Trivia. Ever. And he threw me into what can be fairly described as a trivia lion's den. (Thanks, bud.) Thankfully, tonight went much more smoothly.
All right, onto the action….
The game got off to a hot start, with four teams putting up perfect cards in Round 1: Cheating Bastards, Hunt for Red Oktoberfest, The Ringers, and The Cat's Meow. Church of the Moose Oak's perfect Round 2 card (and Boats & Hoes' strong start) helped close the gap between first and second to just one point.
Five teams put up perfect cards in Round 3, but at the end of the round, Hunt for the Red Oktoberfest was the frontrunner by a single point. Intense jockeying for position — and another perfect card in Round 4 for Boats & Hoes — shifted the leaderboard significantly, creating a wider point gap and leaving our aquatic harlots with a single-point lead.
The submersible Jerries put up the only perfect Round 5 card; they now shared the number one spot with Punching Ms. Daisy, who themselves had been lingering just below the surface throughout the game.
But, dear reader, that simply wasn't enough to put the competition to rest — Boats & Hoes would go on to put up a lone perfect card in Round 6, clinching the win by a single point over Ms. Daisy's abusers.
Thank you to all 13 teams who came out to compete, and congratulations to the week's winner, Boats & Hoes. I'll see you again next week to cover for Stephen while he enjoys what I'm sure is a much-needed vacation.
