Division Brewing

...what could go wrong?  Absolutely nothing!

Division Brewery was buzzing with excitement as trivia night approached, and I had the honor of filling in for the legendary PG-Stephen while he was on vacation. As The Angry Irishman, I knew I had big shoes to fill, but the fierce competition and the lively atmosphere at Division Brewery made it an unforgettable experience.

The format for the night was a single game consisting of six intense rounds, sprinkled with some crazy bonus questions to keep the teams on their toes. As the reigning champions, You’ve Been Served, turned in the winner's belt, anticipation built up to see who would claim the title this week.

By the end of round three, the competition was tighter than I had anticipated. Boats & Hoes led the pack with 19 points, closely followed by Stephen’s Dead and He’s Locked in Our Basement with 18 points. Determined to prove their mettle, Cheating Bastards, The Cat’s Meow, Faster than a Speeding Bullet, and Church of the Moose Oak all sat at 17 points, eagerly eyeing the top spot. Star Spangled Hammer Ringers and several other teams were within three to four points of the lead, making it clear that bonus questions would be crucial in avoiding a tie and distinguishing the leaders.

Rounds four and five saw Boats & Hoes and Cheating Bastards neck and neck, each boasting 33 points. However, with two extra bonus points, Boats & Hoes maintained a slender lead. You’ve Been Served, The Cat’s Meow, and Faster than a Speeding Bullet remained in the top five for total round scores but found themselves three to five points behind the leaders due to the bonus points. The tension was palpable as we approached the final round, and everyone wondered if Boats & Hoes could hold on to their lead or if they would slip up in round six.

In the sixth round, You’ve Been Served, The Cat’s Meow, and Stephen’s Dead and He’s Locked in Our Basement made their move, each scoring 10 points. Boats & Hoes and Cheating Bastards managed only seven points, and the gap narrowed. However, the bonus points played a decisive role. Boats & Hoes, with their nine bonus points and consistent two-point lead throughout the game, emerged victorious with a total score of 49 points. Cheating Bastards and You’ve Been Served tied for second place with 47 points each. The Cat’s Meow secured fourth place with 45 points, followed by Stephen’s Dead and He’s Locked in Our Basement with 44 points and Faster than a Speeding Bullet rounding out the top five with 43 points.

The evening at Division Brewery was incredible. The teams were competitive yet friendly, and the energy was electric. Filling in for Stephen was an absolute pleasure, and the close competition kept everyone on the edge of their seats. As the night concluded and Boats & Hoes proudly claimed their winner's belt, it was clear that trivia night at Division Brewery had once again been a resounding success. The camaraderie, the fierce battles for points, and the joy of shared knowledge made it an amazing night for everyone involved.
