Unlike what the title says, please do NOT fall in DogHaus Biergarten! The arrival of fall is here, and with it tons of rain and showers. This week PubGuys is back for week number seven at DogHaus in the Arlington Highlands! Every week there are always two games with three rounds each, and two chances to win! Not only is the food fantastic, but they also have a rotating selection of over 15 craft beers, and a full bar! If you don't know what we do every week, let me tell you!

Game 1

It was a slow week this time, but we were still able to get a group of 17 players out for some FREE trivia. Team With No Name as well as Mouseaholics were back, joined by Quizlina Aguilera. During the second round of each game there's always a Themed Round, and the theme for this game was pepperThat means that all the questions and answers that round referenced pepper, for example, "Pepper" Potts from Iron Man, or Dr. Pepper. There was also a Visual Round for Game 1, where each team was provided with a visual guide that could earn them up to 10 bonus points. The Visual Round theme for this game was 2013 Movies, so each team had to tell us what movie went with which movie poster. Ultimately Mouseaholics won 1st place, with a 2nd place tie between the other two teams. Team With No Name ended up winning the tiebreaker, and took home the $15 gift card for 2nd place. Here's a question that stumped everyone:

  • Phil Mickelson has won every golf Major except for which one?

Everyone said the British Open, but they were all wrong! The correct answer was:

  • US Open

Game 2

Everyone stuck around for Game 2, and all the scores reset. We had some other players in the Haus, but they wanted to watch rather than play. Hopefully they join us next week! With that being said, the theme for the Themed Round in Game 2 was cold, so all the questions and answers referenced the weather, or other cold things. Replacing the Visual Round for the 2nd game we had a Kitchen Timer Bonus Round. That gave teams the chance to add 10 points to their score at the end so, even if they didn't answer correctly for a round, they still had a chance to win. The challenge for the Kitchen Timer Round this week was: Name the 10 northernmost states with a shoreline on the Atlantic Ocean. Mouseaholics came out on top again, with a two point lead over Team With No Name. Here's another that only one team guessed correctly:

  • The 1968 Winter Olympics were held in which French city?

That question is almost 20 years older than me, so I would have been useless if I was on a team. One team got it right, it was:

  • Grenoble

That's all we have for this week's slightly smaller game at DogHaus in the Arlington Highlands with PubGuys Trivia! Come on out for their $3 Well Wednesday special, and also their great sausages, hot dogs, and burgers! We'll be here next week with more fun, FREE, trivia, and you should be, too! Until next time!
