We're at it again for the third time at Dog Haus Biergarten in the Arlington Highlands! I really like hosting here because it's close by, they have a great selection of beers to choose from, and their food is amazing! In addition to that during our PubGuys trivia game they have their $3 well Wednesdays special going on, which actually goes on all day long! As always the trivia is FREE to play, and recently the prizes have been $25 cash for 1st place, and free food for everyone on the team in 2nd place. There's two games, so there's two chances to win! How does it work? Let me tell you:

Game 1

Once again this was our third week ever at Dog Haus, so we're starting to get a regular crowd in each week to take a crack at some trivia! Returning again we had the Mouseaholics and Team With No Name with us. Also coming out for their 3rd game we had Inappropriately Confident and Raiders. The Visual Round this week was Thoroughfare to City, so the teams had to pick which thoroughfare was associated with which city on their scoreboards. Every game the 2nd round is a Themed Round, and this game's theme was Something Old, meaning each question and answer referenced old things. Coming out on top this game we had Mouseaholics beat out a tie for 2nd by one point! After a rousing game of Rock, Paper, Scissors, Team With No Name came in 2nd place, putting out DogHaus Crew. Here's one that stumped everyone:

  • By what name was the world's largest-circulation magazine, AARP: The Magazine, known for its first forty-five years?

This was tough, we had some hilarious guesses like: Get Off My Lawn!, Old Timers, and Prehistoric Times, but they were all wrong. The correct answer was:

  • Modern Maturity

Game 2

For Game 2 we had most of the same teams with us, with a few team name changes. This time instead of a Visual Round we had a Kitchen Timer Bonus Round, in which the teams had a time limit to come up with 10 answers to the following question: At the end of 2020, what were the ten most expensive cities to live in according to the Economic Intelligence Unit? Once again we had a Themed Round for the 2nd round as well, and that theme was: Weighty matters, so the question/answers all referenced weight. Inappropriately Confident ended up taking 1st place this game, with Team With No Name a close 2nd. Here's a question that stumped almost everyone this game:

  • Harare is the capital of what African country?

I had to look up the pronunciation for this one, as I had never heard of the capital city before. Only one team got it right, it was:

  • Zimbabwe

It has been a blast being the host at Dog Haus Biergarten in the Arlington Highlands, and I'll be here every Wednesday from 7-9 PM every week for the foreseeable future! I love hosting at a place with great staff, great food, and great beer! Come on out next week, I'll be there! Until next time!
