We're still going strong at Dog Haus in the Arlington Highlands this week with PubGuys trivia! Each week we have two games going from 7 to 9 PM where everyone has two chances to win a $25 or $15 gift card to Dog Haus! We had a little under 30 players this week with 6 teams total going at it. The food is always great, and they have a $3 Well Wednesday special, so why not come out for a few drinks, trivia, and some delicious food?! What happens every night, you say? Let me tell you!

Game 1

This week we had the return of Mousaholics and The Team With No Name. They were joined by Inappropriately ConfidentDoghaus Crew, and Haus Arrest to try and win one of the two gift cards avaialble this game. Round 2 is always a Themed Round, and the theme this week was Royals. That means they entire round the questions and answers had something to do with royalty. In addition to that each team had a Visual Round that was due at the end of Round 3, and the Visual Round this time was Disney Opening Movie Scenes. Each team had to guess what movie each scene went with for a chance at 10 bonus points to be added to their final score. For Game 1 Mouseaholics took 1st place, with Inappropriately Confident in a close 2nd. Here's a questions that stumped everyone:

  • The SyFy TV series Haven is credited as being loosely based on which Stephen King novel?

We had several guesses like Children of the Corn, Kujo, and The Shining, but they were all wrong. The correct answer was:

  • The Colorado Kid

Game 2

Durning this game we had the addition of the team Fairly Odd Parents, who graciously took the spot of Doghaus Crew. Swapping out the Visual Round, this game we had a Kitchen Timer Bonus Round. Each team had a time limit to come up with 9 answers to the following question: According to the Betty Crocker Cookbook what are the 9 ingredients needed to make a "Scrumptious Apple Pie"? Round 2 was another Themed Round, and this time the theme was War! What is it good for? That meant that all the questions that round revolved around the topic of war. Coming out on top this time we had The Team With No Name beating out Inappropriately Confident by ONE point! Here's a question that stumped ALMOST everyone:

  • What former Super Bowl and NFL player, nicknamed "The Hammer", also has over 115 movie and television credits to his name, including the movies M*A*S*H and From Dusk Til Dawn?

A lot of teams put down Jim Brown, since he's so prominent in commercials nowadays. The actual correct answer was:

  • Fred Williamson

That's all for this week at Dog Haus in the Arlington Highlands! I've had a blast each week that we've been here, and this week was the 5th week that they brought on PubGuys for their Wednesday trivia! I'm having a blast each week, and everyone is invited to join us from 7 to 9 PM every week. Let's keep the momentum going by having YOU (yes, YOU!) out next week for FREE trivia! I'll be there, I hope to see you, too! Until next time!
